About Stitch & Salvage
Mending the past. Stitching the future.
Stitch & Salvage is a one-woman brand born from a deep respect for slow fashion, storytelling, and the quiet beauty of handwork. I'm Natalie, artist, mender, collector of worn denim and lost threads. Each piece I create is part resurrection, part rebellion: against throwaway culture, against mass production, and in favor of something softer, slower, and more enduring. I specialize in one-of-a-kind garments and accessories made from reclaimed denim, brought back to life with visible mending, sashiko embroidery, and thoughtful design. Every item is hand-stitched and infused with the belief that what’s old can be transformed, not discarded. It’s not fast fashion. It’s lived-in, stitched-over, passed-down fashion. The kind that gets better with age.
My Philosophy
I believe in the poetry of repair. That a patch can be beautiful. That an old pair of jeans has stories to tell. That clothing made with care carries energy — yours, mine, the hands that made it. This work is equal parts utility and art. It’s rooted in sustainability, but also in tenderness. In making things well. In honoring the past while dreaming forward.
The Fallow Collection
The current collection is called Fallow, a word that speaks to rest, regeneration, and readiness. Inspired by wetlands and wild spaces, each piece is named for something earthy and timeless. Think jeans your dad patched in the '80s, turned heirloom with sashiko and memory. You’ll find upcycled denim bog coats, tie-side tanks, patchwork jeans, and the Cairn Pouch, a sturdy little zip clutch made from salvaged scraps. Each item is truly one-of-one.
For You
You’re probably someone who loves well-made things. Someone who cares about craft, who leans into softness, slowness, and soul. Maybe you’ve mended something yourself. Maybe you just want to dress like you know where your clothes came from.
Welcome. I made this for you.
