This $50 deposit secures a spot for a custom Sashiko commission with Stitch & Salvage.

Custom work is slow, collaborative, and made entirely by hand. Each piece is designed and stitched one stitch at a time, using traditional Sashiko techniques and reclaimed denim.

Purchasing this deposit means:

• You are serious about commissioning a custom piece
• You understand this is a slow-made, labour-intensive process
• You are ready to move forward thoughtfully, not urgently

The deposit is applied to your final total once the design and scope are confirmed.

Final pricing depends on garment type, level of repair or embroidery, and time required. Approximately $3/square inch.

How the process works

1. Purchase this deposit - This secures your place in my custom queue.
2. You will receive an email within 3–5 business days - This will include a short form asking about: The garment you want worked on. Repairs vs decorative mending. Fit, wear, and intention. Timeline expectations.
3. Design + quote confirmation - Once I review your details, I will confirm whether your project is a good fit and provide a final price estimate.
4. Send me your garment - option to mail it in or drop off if you are Local
5. Stitching begins - Work starts once the remaining balance is paid.

 Important notes

•  This deposit is **non-refundable**, as it covers consultation time, design consideration, and scheduling.
• Not all garments are suitable for Sashiko mending. If your piece is not a good fit, your deposit can be transferred to a future commission or shop credit.
• Turnaround times vary depending on complexity and current workload. Rushed timelines are not available.
• Custom work is about longevity, not speed.
